Get on the List
The Swimming Hole maintains a waiting list for members. First, you need to create a login account and then complete a membership application/form to get on the waiting list. Just creating a login will not add your name to the waitlist. You must fill out the on-line application/form and then approve/activate your account via the email you receive. Sometimes the “activation email” will go to your “junk/spam” folder. Once you activate your membership profile, your application will be approved, and you will receive a waiting list number on your profile showing your position on the waiting list. The waiting list is accessed strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Prospective members can check their status/placement by logging into your account login and scrolling to the very bottom.
Family/Single Membership
The Swimming Hole has permanent memberships available to 350 families and single persons. In the spring of each year, after members’ dues invoices are mailed, a certain number of members decide to terminate their memberships. Shortly after receiving the written notice of termination, prospective members at the top of the waiting list are notified of their eligibility to join. They are given a description of fees, contracts, and a member information sheet to complete and return to the Swimming Hole.
If the membership offer is not accepted, they can request to be removed from the waiting list or placed at the bottom. During the summer, memberships may become available, and prospective members are notified in the same manner as noted above. After the pool closes for the season, no memberships are offered again until the following spring.
Temporary Memberships
“Rental” or temporary memberships become available when a permanent member chooses to “rent out” their membership for the season. The permanent member loses all privileges of membership for the entire season. The temporary memberships are offered on a first-come, first-served basis to those on the waiting list. You do not have a choice of which membership option you would prefer. You are offered what is available at the time. If a temporary membership is declined, your name is removed from the list or placed at the bottom.
A temporary member is responsible for paying only the annual dues. They do not lose their position on the waiting list and are given the same privileges of a family membership for the period set forth — one summer season.
If a family membership should become available during the use of temporary membership, the provisional member is notified, at which time they may either:
Elect full permanent membership status. (They will not have to pay annual dues again for the current season but will have to pay a redeemable stock fee and non-refundable initiation fee.) OR
Continue to enjoy the temporary membership for the current season and relinquish their position on the waiting list.
